So now we are in Chile. Again. After Torres del Paine we were back in Argentina for a couple of days, saw some more beautiful mountains in El Chaltén and then spent some days in different busses to head North and then over to Chile. The last 2 days we spent at the beautiful island of Chiloé and called it vacation. We actually did have a bath in the Pacific, but that wasn´t exactly fun as the temperature of the water was close to freezing. But our camp site was close to a lake that was much warmer and so we just hung out there for a day and ate fantastic fish and had a good life.
Yesterday we came back to Puerto Montt and found the city without electricity. In short that means: no way to buy a bus ticket, no light, no internet, no nothing... But oh well, we had a wonderful walk in the rain until 1 hour later (Chilenian time - about 4 hours real time) everything worked again. The reason was, that there were some road constructions and someone had hit a line and so the whole city was without electricity. Well, this morning we woke up and had planned on a shower. Good plan, except - at those same road constructions, someone had hit a waterline, so the whole city was without water. It was 9am and they told us, that at 11am it should work again. While we had breakfast 11am became 1pm, so we decided to leave the city, before more happened. At the bus terminal, they were able to sell us a ticket, but we were informed, there was some trouble with the machine to pay with credit card. Oh well... we had enough cash, but decided it was REALLY time to leave this city... Who knows what happens next?
We hope to go North in Chile and write the next time when and if there´s electricity...
